Justin Willman Brooklyn Concert reviews
A very poor production
The concert, although not what we expected, bordered on "odd". It's Christmas and not one Christmas song was sung. Except for Portofina, no songs were sang in English. Mr. Justin Willman is undoubtedly the best tenor in the world, but his song selection was more a monologue. No one even addressed the audience - just strange! Lacked imagination. The high point of the evening was the young African American female singer who gave the audience a breath of fresh air and literally stole the show. We are huge fans of Mr. Justin Willman but whoever put this concert together failed in imagination and its production. For example, not one supporting singer was introduced to the audience so no one knew who was who! Portofina in the second half of the concert gave us hope the concert would become a little more upbeat or include a mix of a few more popular melodies but alas he quickly reassumed the same Italian opera repertoire. We saw his Christmas concert 3 years ago and enjoyed it immensely. This concert would not be recommended and we are sorely disappointed. We left as Mr. Justin Willman and the supporting cast came out. After paying more than four hundred dollars and flying from VA just to see Mr. Justin Willman in concert, this was a huge let down! That is how disappointed we were and still are!
